Four Months

Can you believe it?  Baby Hal is 4 months already!  He has quite the personality – almost always smiling and laughing and talking.

He has been rolling intermittently for several week, but rolling is now officially a mode of transportation for him.  We have to be careful where we lay him on the floor and check to see what is within rolling distance before moving away for even just a second.

Emma loves to change diapers.  I only let her change wet diapers, but she offers to change #2s.  Aedan prefers to be a diaper getter, and has learned that nifty trick of sticking your hand through a plastic sack to grab soiled wet wipes or laundry without contaminating your hands…  Higdon gets along okay at daycare, has survived two colds and a round of thrush, and sleeps great at night until we brag about his sleep habits.  Ha!

We are in no hurry to start solid foods – he is just now starting to pay attention to food and utensils and mouths when he sits on my lap at the table.  Emma and Aedan are looking forward to growing food for him in the garden this summer.

Hopefully summer comes eventually…it seems like our weather has been so crummy that Higdon has only been outside a handful of times.  We did drive downtown and take a stroller walk through the city gardens, to the ice cream shop and through the downtown two weekends ago and he loved sticking his head out to take in the scenery.
